...it's the millisecond wherein the world stands still. anxieties dissipate. life IS as it SHOULD be. it is the sum of all those bedtime stories, the kitchen table conversations where every problem found its solution, the tears after a failed test and the hugs that made it better, the teenage rebellions and that realization that Dad was perhaps right, years gone by...yet to one person you will always be a little girl. you and your Dad. as you've always imagined it to be.

This morning Matt and I had the chance to go and visit Carley and Kevin and their brand new little guy Ozzy.   Carley and Kevin were married in October of 2006 and they have become fast friends of ours ever since.  

Isn't he to die for? Melt my heart.

And I can hardly believe we are almost half way through September! Last night was a real reminder to me when I got together with one of my favorite families I photograph every fall.  I just love this family - and last night they were brave enough to venture downtown with me to try something new...

These two are so much fun. 

Playing hide and seek in the grass...doesn't he just make you happy looking at his expression! 

Little "A" is so fun to photograph because she loves to have her picture taken - you did awesome "A"!

Gosh - it seems as though there are SO many creative wedding planning ideas out there lately.  I've been wanting to share so many of them and decided that I just need to start by posting some of my favorite things.  This past weekend I had the chance to meet a good friend of our clients - who owns her own custom letterpress studio.  Allie of BirdDog Press up in Lyons, Colo. is amazing! Check out these custom wood veneer letterpress invites she did for Darcie and Andrew.  I love the pressed wood and the way this tied into their love of the outdoors.

If you know anything about the Walker family, it's that we love Colorado's rivers.  When I met Matt 8 years ago, little did I know that I'd be embarking upon many river adventures with this Colorado clan.   Through many sessions of what I call "water therapy" - I've overcome my fears of whitewater (well, anything class III or lower!) and we've met some incredible people who share this same outdoor passion of ours.   Meg and Jay are no exception.  These two met on the Arkansas River guiding river raft trips.   So naturally, when we talked about doing their engagement session - they said they were up for an adventure and would love to go back to the place they met.  The river.

The session started off tromping around downtown Buena Vista, Colo. and we thought the rain could threaten the fun...

And then we headed to the river with their 1 year old pup.

And then the real show began...A true Colorado couple.  

After hitting the rapid, they decided to head back into the whitewater for a "challenge" to tip the raft.  Their idea - not ours!

Mission accomplished.

The Arkansas River is simply amazing.
