Pop on over to one of the South's best wedding blogs and magazines Weddings Unveiled to see a photo feature from Angela and Rob's wedding and so many more very cool inspiring wedding ideas!   The girls at WED, amazing planners out of Charleston, did an incredible job planning Angela and Rob's wedding that Katie shot last summer!

We absolutely LOVE the US Virgin Islands and news of this wedding being published comes on the same day that we made some other very exciting plans that are in the works on the US Virgin Islands...it's a secret for now - but more coming soon!  I promise!!

Telluride Wedding Photography: Marissa & Jed
Wednesday, September 23, 2009

If you are looking for a place to escape, look no further than Dunton Hot Springs. Marissa & Jed's destination wedding outside of Telluride raises the bar for mountain wedding seclusion. Along with 40 of their closest family and friends, Marissa & Jed celebrated in the San Juan mountains in what was once an old ghost town - now restored and hailed as one of the top luxury resorts in the country. They rented out the entire town - each of their guests staying in various parts of the 'town' - cabins now occupy what were once General Stores and post offices. Butch Cassidy even left his mark - etching his initials on the saloon's bar top. All of this and of course no shortage of hot springs for soaking.

Marissa & Jed are the type of people that seem to always be present in the moment. Spend some time with them and it becomes clear that these are people who hold their passions close and their friendships even closer. They are true of heart, no doubt. So many stories emerged as I watched their day unfold - they fly by the seat of their pants just as well as they anticipate, laugh hard and love much.

Seeing each other for the first time.

Drooling over their details! Marissa scouted Etsy for the past year to find everything chic...so colorful! We were so amazed by the floral - Alicia at Bella Fiori worked wonders - not a detail missed!

Marissa's energy is undeniable.

One of my very favorites.

Dunton offers a little something for everyone.

Details - part 2! Now this saloon-style reception was a sight to be seen! Mountain-rustic meets french-country meets pure-elegance...there are no words to describe the ambience of their reception. We were so impressed by the uber-talented Michelle at Dramatic Events - she worked with Marissa to pull it all together.  The plates, each featuring a different animal, were part of collection that had been hand-collected over the past year, along with vintage candelabras and unique statuettes. The table names ranged from Horse to Bird to Dragonfly...so cool!

A big thank you to Michelle for sending Marissa & Jed our way and Alex Witkowicz for sharing his creative eye.

And of course, Marissa & Jed - thank you for inspiring the storytelling in our art. You are a beautiful couple!

Katie

Just Another Day
Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Just thought we'd share a few quick recent pics of Story!  She spent the day with Auntie Katie yesterday - and of course - like the best auntie in the world - she had to take some quick pics!  We about melted seeing her in a new outfit from none other than our favorite stylist and makeup artist, Jessica Shinyeda of The Face Lab. We are in disbelief that Story is almost 8 months old - and FULL of personality!

Hope the week is treating you great!!!

Jenna

Denver Wedding - Kari and her Dad
Thursday, September 10, 2009

There is no doubt in my mind that wedding days are about so much more than just the bride and groom.  For as big of a day as it will be for you - it will most certainly be a big day for any mom or dad as well.  For with a new life comes the defining moment of leaving the familiar for new territory - it is a day that parents reflect back over the many years of raising their children and now...in a sense...letting go.

For Kari and her Dad it was no different.  Kari's dad gave the most beautiful speech to his only daughter on the night of their wedding.  He talked about how Kari was just the cutest little toddler with her pink shopping cart that she would push up and down the block - never filled with groceries but instead she would stack it full of her dolls.  He talked about moments they had growing up and how proud he was of her...of how very much he loved her and was so happy that she was what his life had been all about.  He talked about the best moments - and then...with a crackling in his voice - he talked about what had happened just hours earlier.   And of all of the memories - there was no doubt in his mind that this was the most beautiful one.  The happiest one.  The one of him seeing his daughter for the first time on her wedding day...

Thank you for letting me be a part of this.  Kari and Tuck - you are an amazing couple and we think the world of you and your families.  A huge congratulations - and a big welcome home from Greece!

Much love,

Jenna

r. j. kern:Brilliant idea, Jenna!!! Your beautiful photography elevates this special bond and shares it with the world. The light, emotion, and moments... so perfectly photographed, especially with the black background.  I bet they love love love these. (09/17/09, 01:14)

Paradise. Found.
Tuesday, September 08, 2009

If you were looking for your little slice of paradise, you need to keep going. Stop when you get to Dunton Hot Springs and never come back. Ok - so I broke that last rule.

I just returned from an amazing weekend outside of Telluride for Marissa & Jed's stunning wedding at Dunton - an old ghost town with equal parts rustic chic and world class luxury. Dunton is in a league of its own (and on a road of its own for that matter). There are no words to describe it.

Lots to come! Congratulations Marissa & Jed!

Katie
