When planning for the shooting segments of SUBSTANCE, we had no intentions or plans to do a full-on style shoot. We thought we’d find a few models, grab our cameras, discuss the technicalities…and that’d be that and it’d be great.
We value our partners in industry so much that we were, quite frankly, a bit bashful to call on any favors. The wedding planners, event designers and floral masterminds that we’ve stumbled paths with are nothing short of amazing. Each and every one of you reading this who has shown up and worked your magic on a wedding – well, you – you rock. And I’m certain our clients know the same – you’ve learned, first-hand, how amazing it is when a team of vendors pulls through for you.
All that said, we were beyond AMAZED and excited that Rachel at Talia Events wanted to make SUBSTANCE more than we could have dreamed it to be. She presented her vision, added her touch – and well – without further adieu – we’re amazed with what she, quite literally, brought to the table.
Rachel is the founder of Talia Events, a wedding design and planning studio based in Boulder, Colorado. But that’s just the beginning. Here’s what she has to say (love it!):
“I design days that are deeply personal. I am inspired by people, normal people like you and me. I love their stories. It’s who I am, but not everything I am. I am a newlywed. I loved planning our wedding. The last line of our invitation read, “Dinner, dessert, dancing and ridiculous amounts of joy to follow.” That was important to us. I am a life-long event planner. In over 10 years of professional experience, I’ve coordinated galas and dinners for 300, workshops for 50 and tradeshows for 50,000. I love logistics and details. I always have. I am organized and methodical, but not extreme. I have a junk drawer too. I am a designer. As a young child I spent hours and hours making my mud pies beautiful before they could be placed in the mailbox oven. I still make things beautiful, but today use my natural aptitude toward design to infuse weddings with the inherent beauty of the personalities, passions and lives of the bride and groom. I adore flowers. If the truth be known, I didn’t put my bridal bouquet down until it was time to dance because I loved it so much. I spent 10+ years of weekends as a floral designer. And, I love what I do and the clients I am blessed to work alongside.”
And here’s what she brought to the table, with the help of Crystal at Crystal in the Garden, LinenHero, All Events Rentals, Chautauqua Dining Hall, Frisk Jewelry, Marie James Dress Boutique and Anna Be.
Happy Wednesday happy friends!
