I'm sitting at the studio this evening as the clouds are rolling into Denver - it's thundering in the distance. Everything is quiet around me and I'm just thinking about the big season of weddings we are about to embark upon. No engagement shoot with Krista and Eric tonight - the clouds have dictated other plans for us all. But as I sit here - I feel this overwhelming sense of pride, happiness and anticipation. On Saturday, we'll start the season off by photographing Lauren and Andy's wedding - and Katie with Julie and Brett. And somehow - after 5 full years of photographing weddings - I still get nervous. But nervous in a good way...that 'want to do good and make things perfect' kind of way... You see, your weddings are a huge responsibility to Katie, Matt and I. We feel a tremendous responsibility to be your eyes on the one day in your life that will pass you so quickly and be filled with so much love. This summer you will be surrounded by your friends and family - and they will watch you as you shine on your biggest day. I want you to know I'll be watching too...I'll be watching when your Dad sees you for the first time. I'll be watching when your groom sees you out of the corner of his eye the split second you begin to appear down the aisle. I'll be watching when you experience real joy - and you will. And I'll be watching when you SHINE. I want you to know that when things get stressful as you lead up to the big day - that we are only a phone call away. I want you to know that you can call us - and maybe, just maybe we'll have some good advice. I want you to know that we are invested in you and care deeply about you and your families. So here's to you, our couples of the summer of 2010 - may you truly SHINE. This is your time. Much love, Jenna, Matty and Katie (pictured above: photo Katie took somewhere in the mountains above Barcelona, Spain) |
