If you are looking for a place to escape, look no further than Dunton Hot Springs. Marissa & Jed's destination wedding outside of Telluride raises the bar for mountain wedding seclusion. Along with 40 of their closest family and friends, Marissa & Jed celebrated in the San Juan mountains in what was once an old ghost town - now restored and hailed as one of the top luxury resorts in the country. They rented out the entire town - each of their guests staying in various parts of the 'town' - cabins now occupy what were once General Stores and post offices. Butch Cassidy even left his mark - etching his initials on the saloon's bar top. All of this and of course no shortage of hot springs for soaking. Marissa & Jed are the type of people that seem to always be present in the moment. Spend some time with them and it becomes clear that these are people who hold their passions close and their friendships even closer. They are true of heart, no doubt. So many stories emerged as I watched their day unfold - they fly by the seat of their pants just as well as they anticipate, laugh hard and love much.
Seeing each other for the first time.
Drooling over their details! Marissa scouted Etsy for the past year to find everything chic...so colorful! We were so amazed by the floral - Alicia at Bella Fiori worked wonders - not a detail missed!
Marissa's energy is undeniable.
One of my very favorites.
Dunton offers a little something for everyone.
Details - part 2! Now this saloon-style reception was a sight to be seen! Mountain-rustic meets french-country meets pure-elegance...there are no words to describe the ambience of their reception. We were so impressed by the uber-talented Michelle at Dramatic Events - she worked with Marissa to pull it all together. The plates, each featuring a different animal, were part of collection that had been hand-collected over the past year, along with vintage candelabras and unique statuettes. The table names ranged from Horse to Bird to Dragonfly...so cool!
A big thank you to Michelle for sending Marissa & Jed our way and Alex Witkowicz for sharing his creative eye. And of course, Marissa & Jed - thank you for inspiring the storytelling in our art. You are a beautiful couple! Katie |
