I think anticipation is one of the best things to photograph. Whether it be a bride getting ready to walk down the aisle, guests waiting, toasts beginning, the moment before a big exit...there is just something about anticipation. Maybe its the way people hold their breath just a touch longer than normal, maybe its the nervous hands, maybe its the quiet of it all...the expectations. I love the challenge of photographing those moments. The focus of watching others when they are waiting to watch the big moment. I love feeling as though I've disappeared completely from our clients and they just are. They can BE. They don't worry about the photos. They don't worry about me being in the way...or even being there for that matter...they've forgot about me. This is how we capture best. Getting ready before the ceremony is one of my very favorite parts of the day. Often overlooked as an emotional part of the wedding - it is definitely something I recommend and protect time for when photographing all of our couples. I wanted to give you a slice of time from Nicole and Dan's wedding...all of these images are from about a 10 minute span at their wedding when Nicole was ready to slip into her dress...and well, the anticipation of it all.
And my very favorite...her best friend's hand shows it all.
Gosh Nicole - you were such an amazing beautiful bride - I feel so fortunate to know you! Much love, Jenna |
